J Knox Designs is a husband-and-wife lighting studio in the Texas Hill Country, creating handcrafted lighting, restored vintage pieces, and one-of-a-kind functional art for your space.
J Knox Designs is led by John and Courtney Daniels from our workshop in Fredericksburg, Texas. What began as a love for old things, good materials, and hands-on work has grown into a small lighting studio focused on pieces that feel collected, intentional, and built to last.
Our work is rooted in brass, texture, patina, and the kind of details that only come from being made by hand.

Our workshop sits on land that has been part of Courtney’s family for generations — once her great-grandparents’ farm. That history matters to us. It reminds us to make things with patience, purpose, and respect for the materials in front of us.
Every fixture that leaves our shop carries a little of this place with it: the quiet, the grit, the practicality, and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
